Overview:


The Junior Cybersecurity Systems Analyst will engage in tasks related to the establishment, upkeep, and enhancement of the network accreditation status for the secure Digital Integration Laboratory (DIL), adhering to the latest DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) security protocols and regulatory standards.

This role involves securing and sustaining the network's Authority to Operate (ATO) for the DIL network by successfully completing the triannual re-accreditation process in line with RMF guidelines.

The selected candidate will assist in monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to incidents as part of the designated DIL management team.

The Junior Cybersecurity Systems Analyst will design, implement, oversee, and uphold cybersecurity measures for the DIL, a Closed Restricted Network (CRN), while effectively communicating with leadership regarding these responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide support in the design, testing, operation, and deployment of secure operating systems, networks, and database solutions.

2. Assist in conducting risk assessments and offer recommendations for enhancements in security processes.

3. Contribute to a variety of cybersecurity matters, including architectures, firewalls, data traffic, and network access.

4. Participate in evaluations of the system's security posture.

5. Aid in security testing to validate the cybersecurity integrity of the system.

6. Engage in the integration of architectural features into existing infrastructures.

7. May assist in resolving integration and testing challenges.

8. Support encryption, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments of various security technologies and IT security research.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance; US citizenship is mandatory.

- Active Security + CE (or another current baseline IAM 1 certification as specified in DOD).

- Proficient in creating and entering RMF Package documentation artifacts into the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) system, including system scans, System Security Plans, implementation reports, Plans of Action & Milestones (POAMs), and other related RMF documents.


Experience in reviewing the implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) is essential.


Familiarity with DoD-sourced Risk Management Framework (RMF) directives and guidance, and applying them to program systems and Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) notifications for relevance and implementation is required.


Experience in Cybersecurity, IT, Risk Management Framework, or related fields is necessary.


Knowledge of implementing RMF guidelines on systems in accordance with NIST 800-53v4 controls and other DOD/Army regulatory standards is expected.


Demonstrated operational excellence and mission focus, with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.


Ability to effectively present and communicate technical strategies and findings.


Preferred Qualifications:

- Current / Active SECRET Security Clearance.

- Master's Degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.

- Active Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.

- Experience in reviewing the implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) for Windows-based systems.

- Experience in reviewing the implementation of STIGS for CISCO-based networks and firewalls.

- Familiarity with the setup and operation of the NESSUS/ACAS scanning tool.

- Knowledge of the RMF accreditation process, including the annual requirements for the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).

- Experience with the setup and operation of the Army Endpoint Security System (AESS) application and clients.

- Experience in supporting security monitoring and incident response services.

- Proficiency with DOD-sourced system vulnerability assessment tools, ACAS/NESSUS, SCAP, etc., and the implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) policies.

- Experience in security audit log analysis.
