As we expand our sustainability services team, we are particularly focused on life cycle assessments, corporate and product carbon footprint analysis, and environmental product declarations.

This role will involve collaborating with our established Sustainability Services team in the UK, engaging in a variety of projects that pertain to sustainability. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Calculating and verifying corporate and product carbon footprints against international standards.
  • Conducting life cycle assessments and energy audits.
  • Preparing environmental product declarations and low carbon hydrogen certifications.
  • Performing sustainability audits.

To be successful in this position, you should possess a qualification in sustainability and have proven experience in conducting life cycle assessments and carbon footprint calculations.

Key Skills Required:

  • A strong academic background (2:1 or 1st) in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in Product Carbon Footprint and Life Cycle Assessment projects.
  • Proficiency in creating and critically reviewing LCAs in accordance with ISO 14044, ISO 14040, and relevant Product Category Rules.
  • Familiarity with standards and frameworks related to product carbon footprinting.
  • Experience in assuring product carbon footprint statements as per ISO and the GHG Protocol.
  • Strong knowledge of LCA software such as GaBi, OpenLCA, or SimaPro.
  • A genuine commitment to sustainability and the pursuit of net-zero goals.
  • Ability to thrive in a distributed, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a capacity for independent learning.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, along with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A higher degree (MSc or PhD) in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Knowledge of relevant documentary standards, regulations, and legislation pertaining to sustainability and the energy sector.
  • Understanding of existing energy systems and the transition to decarbonized energy systems, including hydrogen and CCUS.
  • A valid UK driving license or equivalent.
