As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for executing all necessary assembly tasks on drilling rigs and associated equipment, adhering to established standards and safety protocols. This role is designated for the 1st Shift Sub-Assembly.

The work environment involves regular exposure to moving mechanical components, fumes, and airborne particles. Employees must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally over 100 pounds. The position may also require climbing heights of 4-6 feet using ladders or operating powered industrial trucks to reach up to 50 feet. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary for this role, which is classified as Safety Sensitive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and connect hydraulic controls, pumps, rams, and other system components.
  • Mount and connect engines, gearboxes, axles, and other power units.
  • Assemble hydraulic products, ensuring proper installation and tightening of bolts and hoses according to process specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the assembly area.
  • Identify and report defective materials, operational issues, and unusual conditions to the Supervisor.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Keep accurate work-related records and reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Occasionally train new employees and complete necessary paperwork for rejected components.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Training for this position typically spans six months to one year.
  • Preferred experience includes a minimum of two years as an assembler and training in blueprint reading.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Proficient in interpreting specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with mechanical components and their optimal operation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the product line.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of M3 systems is preferred; basic computer skills are required.
