Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Manager will oversee all maintenance operations to ensure optimal performance across the entire production facility. This role encompasses various aspects of Maintenance Business Management, Maintenance Materials Inventory (MRO), and Equipment Reliability, including departmental budgets, computerized maintenance management systems, and preventive/predictive maintenance strategies. The position also requires expertise in managing technical skills related to electrical, electronic, mechanical systems, and utilities management, including boiler and refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise maintenance teams to guarantee that all systems function at peak efficiency to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Enhance reliability and maintenance processes to minimize costs and prevent production losses due to equipment failures.
  • Assess equipment capabilities and safety conditions in collaboration with other supervisors and technicians.
  • Formulate cost-effective preventative maintenance procedures to extend the lifespan of machinery.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for equipment and processes.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of operational standards and corrective measures.
  • Create and regularly review maintenance logs specific to the site.
  • Coordinate and oversee corrective and preventive maintenance activities in line with company policies and financial guidelines.
  • Provide training on maintenance practices, including effective use of maintenance logs and routine facility upkeep.
  • Assist team members in diagnosing equipment malfunctions.
  • Analyze production schedules to estimate labor requirements for job assignments.
  • Support inventory management by preparing requisitions for spare parts.
  • Help maintain the departmental budget positively by optimizing workforce and equipment utilization.
  • Participate in safety training and monthly safety meetings, contributing to safety committee efforts and technical support for safety projects.
  • Evaluate long-term needs for major projects and facility enhancements.
  • Ensure that equipment and facilities are kept in safe, operational condition and manage upgrades or replacements as necessary.
  • Establish protocols for timely equipment repairs.
  • Guide teams in the maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Direct teams involved in the assembly and installation of industrial machinery.
  • Foster employee relations through effective communication and regular departmental meetings.
  • Oversee the implementation of safety management programs in collaboration with the safety coordinator.
  • Analyze downtime reports to identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans.
  • Engage in annual audits and assist in the formulation of procedures and corrective actions.
  • Lead the implementation of quality management processes to achieve operational targets.
  • Assist in supervising maintenance staff, focusing on performance management and professional development.
  • Communicate effectively with external partners, including contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Maintain close coordination with the Maintenance Manager and other team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field is highly preferred.
  • 1-5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems is essential.
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems, including refrigeration and boiler systems, is advantageous.
  • Understanding of cost management systems is beneficial.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, and weekends, is necessary.
