Job Overview

The Electrical Assembly Technician 2 plays a crucial role in the installation of electrical components and wiring for relay and control panel projects at Crown Texas INC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and analyze schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to ascertain material needs or assembly guidelines.
  • Construct electrical systems and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or conduit utilizing rivets, bolts, soldering, or micro-welding tools.
  • Execute wiring and cabling in accordance with schematics and blueprints.
  • Modify, repair, or substitute electrical or electronic component parts to rectify defects and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Utilize cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths to maintain cleanliness of parts.
  • Drill or tap holes in designated equipment locations for mounting control units or creating openings for elements, wiring, or instruments.
  • Collaborate with supervisors or engineers to strategize, review work activities, or address production challenges.
  • Examine or test wiring installations, assemblies, or circuits for resistance factors or operational integrity and document findings.
  • Label and tag components to facilitate tracking and identification of stock inventory.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong ability to execute work accurately.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Proficient reading comprehension skills to interpret and adhere to written instructions, blueprints, and engineering diagrams.
  • Basic mathematical skills to fulfill technical specifications and measurements.
  • Fundamental understanding of tools (e.g., tape measure, impact drill, wire crimpers, etc.).

Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in wiring or installation of electrical components.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capability to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
  • Manual dexterity required for assembling products or machinery as instructed.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination is essential.
  • Ability to distinguish between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
  • Compliance with PPE requirements, including gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and ear protection, while working on the production floor.
