Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs, to ensure the optimal functioning of building systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Assist in monitoring building system operations and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Utilize skills in plumbing, electrical, painting, flooring repair, and general mechanics to perform a variety of tasks.
  • Manage building maintenance supplies and inform supervisors when supplies/parts are needed.
  • Responsible for general maintenance and operational duties, including performance testing, maintenance, adjustment, and care of building systems and equipment.
  • Perform inspections of roofs, floors, walls, overhead lights, emergency lights, dock leveling systems, eyewash stations, and safety showers.
  • Responsible for upkeep and safe operation of all plumbing equipment and shop tools.
  • Respond to and complete work orders and PMs in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance at the workplace at all times.
  • Perform duties within the required time frame as directed by the Supervisor or Lead Maintenance Technician.
  • Proactively inspect interior and exterior of building appearance and condition, and create and complete work orders based on findings in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); computer experience.
  • Some college or technical school preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and group situations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and rates.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to real-world situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Work Environment:

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
