The Electrical Assembly Technician 2 plays a crucial role in the assembly and installation of electrical components and wiring for relay and control panel projects at Crown Texas INC.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and analyze schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to ascertain material needs or assembly guidelines.
- Construct electrical systems and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or conduit utilizing rivets, bolts, soldering, or micro-welding tools.
- Route wire and cable in accordance with schematics and blueprints.
- Modify, repair, or substitute electrical or electronic component parts to rectify defects and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Clean components using appropriate cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.
- Drill or tap holes in designated equipment locations to install control units or to create openings for elements, wiring, or instruments.
- Collaborate with supervisors or engineers to plan and review work activities or to troubleshoot production issues.
- Examine or test wiring installations, assemblies, or circuits for resistance factors or operational integrity and document findings.
- Label and tag components to facilitate stock inventory tracking and identification.
- Perform all other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to execute work accurately.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Strong reading comprehension skills with the ability to interpret and adhere to written instructions, blueprints, and engineering diagrams.
- Basic mathematical skills to fulfill technical specifications and measurements.
- Fundamental knowledge of tools (e.g., tape measure, impact drill, wire crimpers, etc.).
Experience and Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of experience in wiring or installation of electrical components.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
- Manual dexterity is essential for assembling products or machinery as directed.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination is required.
- Capability to distinguish between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
- Compliance with PPE requirements, including gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and ear protection, while on the production floor.
