Mental Health Care Specialist

Darke County Recovery Services is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our mental health housing staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate a peaceful environment and provide oversight to residents in the mental health housing operated by Darke County Recovery Services.
- Participate in residential intake, discharge, and care plan development.
- Ensure residents adhere to program and policy requirements.
- Assist with room checks, administer drug screens, and maintain a drug and alcohol-free recovery environment.
- Record client vital signs, notify nurse of changes, and observe clients' behavior and mental status.
- An Associate's degree in a Social Services or Psychology-related field is preferred.
- 3+ years' work experience in behavioral health may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Good customer service skills with clients and community.
- Competency in areas prerequisite for performing activities noted above with supervision.
- Utilize computer well enough to perform clinical documentation and generate written documentation in WORD or via email.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, communicable diseases, and insects such as bedbugs.
- Work in a facility environment with multiple individuals; aware of proper food preparation and storage, safety and health issues, prevention and intervention with insects.
The estimated salary for this position is $52,500 per year, based on industry standards and comparable positions in the area.
