Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical CAD Design Specialist who will work under the direction of an Electrical engineer, developing electrical designs and creating construction documents for Electrical projects using AutoCAD Electrical and Excel.

  1. Main Responsibilities:
  • Develops complete Electrical drawing designs using AutoCAD Electrical to create single power diagrams, schematics, interconnect diagrams, panel layouts, and bill of materials.
  • Develops conduit and cable tray layouts, conduit and cable schedules, performs conduit and cable tray fill calculations, and generates cable and wire interconnection reports.
  • Creates drawings for Electrical enclosures, equipment, instruments, and installations details.
  • Creates and revises P&ID's and Hazardous Area Classification drawings.
  • Plans, details, schedules work, and final delivery of drawings.
  • Outlines, sets up, organizes, and maintains project drawings according to applicable standards.
  • Willingness to perform site visits to create sketches, red lines, and gather information for as-built.
  • Performs design coordination, drawings reviews, and creates markups for drafters.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We seek a candidate with a Certificate in drafting & design, A.S. in drafting & design preferred, and 2-5 years drafting and design experience in the oil and gas industry or related field dealing with electrical wiring, power distribution, and conduits.

  • Technical Capacity: Solid understanding of drafting techniques, discipline codes, and engineering terminology.
  • Communications Proficiency: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Problem Solving/Analysis: Develops innovative solutions and possesses abstract thinking and ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
  • Collaboration Skills: Works collaboratively with senior engineers and teammates to set goals and quickly develop within the company.
