Network Design Engineer Specialist

Fiberlight, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Network Design Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing point-to-point and dark fiber network services for our customers. This includes DWDM waves, Ethernet MPLS services, and layer three services.

Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed circuit maps and designs according to predetermined standards and specifications.
- Develop diagrams of circuits in CAD applications, utilizing various network gear.
- Coordinate provisioning with our NOC and external customers.
- Migrate and groom existing services to support increased capacity.
- Collaborate with network engineers and stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and requirements.
- Serve as escalation for the NOC for customer support.
- Support operations during outages requiring engineering support.
- Develop and review technical statement of work documentation.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent and at least 4 years of experience in network engineering. Your expertise should include Cisco, Juniper, and at least one DWDM platform (Ciena, Adva, Infinera, Fujitsu, etc.). You should also have experience with network management systems and protocols, as well as CAD applications such as Microsoft Visio, 3GIS, VersaCAD.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with automating Cisco and Juniper routers and switches using Python scripts, Ansible, and Git would be beneficial. Familiarity with cloud automation using Terraform or CloudFormation, as well as BGP and MPLS configurations, is also a plus. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year.
