Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with patients' nurses to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide assistance with daily living activities, promote mobility, and support nutritional needs under the direction of licensed nurses.
  • Observe patient progress and report significant changes to licensed nurses in a timely manner.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges while adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing education and skill development to enhance patient-focused care.
  • Accurately record vital signs, weights, and completion of daily living activities in the medical record.
  • Report significant and/or abnormal values to licensed nurses in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the hospital's performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a State of Texas-approved nursing assistant course.
  • Current Texas Department of Health certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
