Job Summary

As a Certified Nursing Assistant at Citizens Medical Center, you will play a vital role in delivering quality patient care. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will assist licensed nurses in providing nursing care and activities of daily living within the scope of practice defined by the Texas Department of Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with patients' nurses to develop and implement care plans for assigned patients.
  2. Provide assistance with daily living activities, promote mobility, and support nutritional needs under the direction of licensed nurses.
  3. Observe patient progress, report significant changes to licensed nurses, and participate in the development of self and skills to enhance patient-focused care.
  4. Use authorized equipment to gather and document data on stable patients, accurately record vital signs, weights, and completion of daily living activities.
  5. Actively participate in the unit's performance improvement initiatives and adhere to organization-wide policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a State of Texas-approved nursing assistant course
  • Current Texas Department of Health certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
