PRIMARY ROLE (the essential function of this position):

Responsible for preparing and entering journal entries into the accounting system promptly. This role involves reconciling and managing all assigned general ledger accounts, generating timely financial reports, and assisting with operational analysis as required.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Foster a clean, safe, and friendly work atmosphere for both staff and visitors; promptly report safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
  • Manage cash flow effectively.
  • Update check registers on a daily basis.
  • Identify and report any unusual banking transactions.
  • Reconcile and maintain all assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Oversee all assigned journals and schedules.
  • Regularly communicate workflow updates to the Manager.
  • Assist in preparing documentation and schedules for the annual audit.
  • Support both Accounts Receivable and Payable processes.
  • Conduct credit card reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with vendors for account reconciliations.
  • Keep the Manager informed of any unusual activities within the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all financial records and materials.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems.
  • Adhere to relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (educational background, technical training, skills, and experience needed):

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least one year of accounting experience is required.

• Minimum of six months of computer experience, including general accounting, spreadsheet preparation, and word processing.

• Ability to accurately maintain and reconcile general accounting records and data.

• Professional demeanor and appearance.

• Must comply with background checks and drug-free workplace policies.
