Residential Support Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Residential Support Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and facilitating all student-related activities within the residential environment. This role ensures a structured and safe living space while maintaining precise records of student interactions and progress. The coordinator provides personalized guidance and manages the cleanliness and upkeep of the living quarters.

Accountability for each student is maintained in accordance with the Department of Labor regulations, the Policy Requirement Handbook, and the established Center Operating Procedures.

The coordinator serves as a positive role model, demonstrating exemplary behavior and character traits to the students.

Key Responsibilities:
Facilitates and supervises students in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the dormitory, ensuring a safe and welcoming atmosphere. Identifies maintenance needs and safety issues, initiating work requests as necessary. Keeps a detailed record of significant events that impact students, making appropriate referrals when required. Assists in the development and maintenance of a Social Training Achievement Record (STAR) for each student, promptly addressing any special needs. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

SUPERVISORY ROLE
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
A high school diploma or a general education degree (GED) is required.

EXPERIENCE
Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience working with adolescents.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Proficiency in database management and word processing software is essential.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES


A valid driver's license is required, with a driving history that meets the Cherokee Nation underwriting standards.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS


Candidates must not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or the General Services Administration (GSA), nor listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers. Compliance with pre-employment and periodic background checks for child care is mandatory.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively.

Frequent standing, walking, and manual dexterity are necessary, along with reaching and handling various objects. Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, or crawling may be required. The ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally is necessary.

Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees in this role may frequently encounter outdoor weather conditions and occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The typical noise level in the work environment is moderate.
