Patient Services Representative Role

At Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and services. As a Patient Services Representative, you will be the primary point of contact for patients, families, and caregivers, facilitating the patient check-in process and providing patient-centered customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets and screens patients arriving for appointments, checking them in using an automated scheduling system.
  • Assembles and distributes necessary paperwork to patients, families, caregivers, and clinical staff.
  • Triage questions and concerns from callers, forwarding them to the appropriate staff or department as needed.
  • Performs general clerical duties, including processing mail, taking inventory, and ordering office supplies.
  • Activates provider orders for Alliance Lab.
  • May schedule patient appointments as ordered by clinicians.
  • May be responsible for facilitating patient flow.
  • Verifies demographic, clinical, and financial information with patients as required.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months to one year of experience in a customer service environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex healthcare environment.
  • Effectively organize and manage time and tasks independently.
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in using a mouse, navigating computer programs, and using email in a professional setting.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical terminology knowledge.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $24.02 to $34.19, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
