Position Overview: Real Estate Legal Counsel

Goodspeed Merrill (GM) is in search of a skilled Real Estate Legal Counsel to enhance its expanding real estate division.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid license to practice law in Colorado and possess approximately 4-8 years of pertinent experience in real estate law. A strong commitment to client service is essential. Candidates should demonstrate significant expertise in commercial property transactions, including title examination, survey analysis, and negotiation, as well as commercial leasing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in drafting covenants and handling commercial development and land use matters.
  • A portable book of business is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver projects efficiently and professionally.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.

Essential Experience:

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in real estate law.
  • Ability to plan and achieve objectives with creativity and independence under the guidance of senior attorneys.
  • Proficiency in land use, multi-use development, and entitlement processes.
  • Exceptional drafting and analytical skills, with the capability to assess and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience with special improvement districts and alternative financing is preferred.
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited institution.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
  • A professional demeanor with a strong commitment to being well-informed and attentive.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this role is between $125,000 and $160,000, commensurate with experience.

GM offers a competitive bonus structure for Associate attorneys, allowing for business development while maintaining bonus eligibility after reaching 1,800 billable hours.
