Sales Development Representative Role

We are expanding our Sales Development team to support the rapid adoption of our offerings. Notable companies like Netflix, Lyft, Facebook, The New York Times, and Tinder are looking to Elastic to solve their complex data challenges. As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will play a pivotal role in the success of our sales organization by proactively identifying, nurturing, and creating new opportunities.

Unlike many Sales Development teams, we prioritize the quality of interactions over call quantity. At Elastic, you will collaborate with current users to understand their use cases and guide them through their Elastic journey. We provide office space for in-person training, collaboration, and team building, which SDRs use an average of 1-2 days per week depending on tenure, team, and preference. This helps our SDRs build stronger relationships and develop within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and partner teams to develop innovative strategies that expand our sales pipeline and grow our business.
  • Balance reactive work responding to interested users with a proactive approach to identify new opportunities.
  • Use tools like Salesforce, Marketo, LinkedIn, and others to research accounts, identify key contacts, and craft targeted messaging.
  • Learn our technology and effectively communicate our value proposition to a technical audience, understanding their goals and challenges to better serve them.
Requirements
  • 0-2 years of sales experience.
  • Open to feedback, genuinely curious, and constantly seeking ways to learn and improve.
  • A genuine love of technology, with the ability to learn and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Comfortable making phone calls – this is the path to success.
  • Hitting monthly targets by being results-oriented and focused on achieving through self-discipline, creativity, and passion.
  • A desire to be part of something bigger than yourself.
Compensation

The typical starting total cash compensation range for transfers in the US for this role is between $65,900.00 and $90,600.00, consisting of a base salary or a base salary plus a target commission, depending on the specific role. The base salary offered may vary based on factors such as skills and experience. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Elastic's equity plan, as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within a holistic total rewards offering.
