Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Development Professional to join our team at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising a variety of sports and recreation programs for members of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Plan and implement a range of sports and recreation programs, including Triple Play, Play Ball, RBI, ALL STARS, Jr. RBI, and Play Breaks.
    • Recruit and retain youth for sports programs.
    • Work with other staff to implement programs throughout the school year.
    • Coach teams in BGCNF sports leagues.
  • Program Administration
    • Prepare weekly reports for the Program Director/Unit Director.
    • Maintain a daily written schedule.
    • Ensure programs begin and end on time.
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure a healthy and safe environment for members.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the program area.
    • Maintain an inventory of program equipment and supplies.
  • Relationships
    • Maintain close contact with club staff, volunteers, and members.
    • Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience
    • Knowledge of youth development.
    • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues.
    • Ability to work with the public.
    • Ability to plan and implement quality programs specific to Sports and Recreation.
    • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
Work Environment

This position generally works Monday through Friday, hours between 2 PM and 7 PM, but may require longer hours outside of this schedule and occasional weekends when necessary.

Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion.
  • Ability to hear at a normal conversational level.
  • Ability to maintain a high energy level when necessary.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence.
