Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transition Specialist to join our team at the Evening Reporting Center. This is a part-time position that requires a strong passion for working with at-risk youth and a commitment to helping them achieve their career goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement career readiness plans for juvenile justice youth, addressing their behavioral, social, and psychological needs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling, as well as consultations with teachers and other professionals, to support students' academic and career success.
  • Collaborate with school-based and community partners to identify student cohorts for project participation and develop strategies to address their unique needs.
  • Facilitate the transition process from juvenile facilities to re-entry into an academic and career education setting, creating individual transition plans and coordinating school enrollment.
  • Serve as an advocate for students and a liaison between schools and agencies providing services to juvenile justice students.
  • Develop and facilitate collaborative programs with social, community, mental health, and workforce readiness organizations to support students' needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong educational background in social science, education, or a related field, as well as at least two years of experience working with at-risk youth, juvenile justice, and/or career readiness education. A valid state driver's license is also required.
