Clinical Admissions Specialist

Job Summary:
Acadia Healthcare is seeking a skilled Clinical Admissions Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our admissions team, you will be responsible for coordinating the admission process for patients, ensuring a smooth transition into our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to inquiries about facility policies and procedures.
- Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Perform benefit eligibility checks to ensure patients have active benefits at the time of admission.
- Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations for referrals.
- Coordinate admission and transfer processes between levels of care within the facility.
- Maintain knowledge of milieu management and communicate projected admissions to internal representatives.
- Ensure all clinical information from referral sources or patients is received prior to admission.
- Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments, consult with admitting physicians, and communicate disposition recommendations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate medical record documentation to support authorization requests.
- Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission prior to admission, when possible.
- Admit patients to the registration and accounting system, complete admission and consent forms, and demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers.
- Coordinate care for patients not being admitted and ensure they receive appropriate follow-up care and referrals.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision is conducted at 15-minute intervals, as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a social services field required (if state allows).
- Master's degree in a social services field or RN preferred.
- One or more years' experience in mental/behavioral health, working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity preferred.
- Current unrestricted driver's license required.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.
