Cedarhurst Senior Living, a dedicated provider of care for seniors, is seeking a Lead Server to join our compassionate team.

In this pivotal role, you will have the chance to engage with our residents and make a meaningful difference in their daily lives. Your responsibilities will include delivering exceptional dining experiences for our residents and their families. You will assist in food preparation, serving meals, and supporting residents who may need help during mealtime. Additionally, you will be involved in catering services, room service, and special events. Collaborating closely with the Dining Services Director, you will strive to create a welcoming and hygienic dining environment.

As a Lead Server, your contributions will include:

  • Assisting with all aspects of catering, room service, and special events.
  • Creating and managing the dining room schedule, ensuring adequate staffing for shifts.
  • Training dining staff on daily specials, desserts, and soups.
  • Maintaining cleanliness by clearing, sanitizing, and setting tables, as well as managing waste disposal.
  • Ensuring thorough cleaning of dining areas and kitchen spaces after meals and events.
  • Helping to manage food costs effectively.
  • Training new staff on Cedarhurst's operational standards, including sanitation protocols and menu education.
  • Completing daily cleaning checklists and participating in scheduled cleaning duties.
  • Providing guidance to serving staff and ensuring preparedness for additional guests.
  • Remaining adaptable and available to work weekends as needed.
To thrive as a Lead Server, you will need:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic understanding of sanitation and infection control regulations.
  • Respect for resident rights and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of senior living care regulations and the various levels of care.
  • A desire to learn and find solutions to challenges.
  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and hospitality.
  • The ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations and manage multiple tasks.
