Job Opportunity

Mika Coral Gables is seeking a skilled and charismatic Host/Hostess to provide exceptional service in a refined and sophisticated dining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver world-class service to guests, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Handle guest concerns and special requests with professionalism and poise.
  • Greets guests with enthusiasm and friendliness, escorting them to tables or waiting areas, and providing menus and communication to servers.
  • Record table status accurately based on seating and server assignment charts.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
  • Communicate special guest needs to servers and supervisors, recording them on guest profiles.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of offerings to communicate with guests and prepare them for their dining experience.
  • Assist with reservations over the phone or at the restaurant, working as agents and advocates for guests.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience as a host/hostess in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team and contribute to a harmonious service environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain all required licenses, certificates, or permits.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Working Conditions:

  • Must have open availability and the ability to regularly report to work on time, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant.
  • Ability to work long days when required by business demands.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
