Restaurant Host/Hostess Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a skilled Restaurant Host/Hostess to join our team at Paperfish. As a key member of our front-of-house staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing reservations, and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Greet guests with a warm and welcoming attitude, ensuring they feel valued and comfortable.
* Maintain an organized reservation system, including taking reservations over the phone or through online platforms, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
* Manage the seating process efficiently, balancing guest preferences, table availability, and server assignments.
* Effectively manage waitlists during peak dining hours, providing estimated wait times and offering guests the option to wait at the bar or in a designated waiting area.
* Provide guests with information about the restaurant's offerings, including menus, daily specials, and any promotions or events.
* Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff regarding table availability, special requests, and any guest concerns or allergies.
* Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess stand and waiting area, ensuring menus and promotional materials are clean and in good condition.

**Requirements**

* Previous experience as a Host/Hostess or in a customer service role is preferred but not required.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Positive attitude and a welcoming demeanor.
* Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
