Culinary Service Manager Job Description

The Culinary Service Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing and directing the community's culinary operations to ensure a high-quality culinary experience for our residents. This role requires a passion for creating and serving superb cuisine that leaves our residents beyond satisfied and enhances their daily lives.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a Regular Cooking Schedule: Ensure high-quality cuisine is served to residents in a timely manner.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with assisted living regulations, ServSafe program, and local health department regulations.
  • Culinary Standards: Maintain Singh standards for menus, therapeutic diets, portioning, and service quality.
  • Café and Catering Operations: Oversee café operations and catering events throughout the community.
  • Resident Diet Notification: Review and update the Resident Diet Notification binder and Point-of-Sale system.
  • Culinary Department Management: Hire, train, supervise, payroll, schedule, and evaluate culinary department staff.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an adequate inventory of food and supplies for the community.
  • Resident Satisfaction: Ensure resident satisfaction through clear, open communication with residents, families, and culinary associates.
  • Community Events: Collaborate with the community's Marketing and Life Enrichment team for community events and activities.
  • Departmental Budget: Adhere to the departmental budget for food, supplies, and labor.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Provide reports and documentation as requested.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Ensure the dining room and kitchen areas are clean, sanitized, and maintained at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
