Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Head Chef to lead our mobile kitchen team at Keitus Seafood Grill & Jerk | Food Truck. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for creating flavorful dishes, strong culinary expertise, and the ability to manage a small, efficient kitchen in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Oversee all aspects of food preparation and service in a compact kitchen space, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
  • Kitchen Management: Manage and train kitchen staff, including scheduling and delegation of tasks, to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and report stock requirements to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the team to create new, unique dishes and rotating specials that fit our mobile kitchen format.
  • Food Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure compliance with food safety and cleanliness standards in a mobile setting, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Event Support: Work late hours, as needed, to accommodate evening events and food truck operations, providing exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a food truck or small-scale kitchen, with a strong understanding of food truck operations, menu planning, and ingredient management.
  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure settings, and effectively manage kitchen staff.
  • Efficiency and Quality: Ability to work efficiently in a small kitchen while maintaining high-quality standards, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Certification and Education: Certification from a culinary school is a plus, but not required, and a passion for continuous learning and professional development.
