Job Title: Sr. Claims Assistant

At The Hanover Insurance Group, we are committed to delivering on our promises and being there when it matters most. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sr. Claims Assistant to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The Sr. Claims Assistant will provide general administrative support to our team of claim adjusters and managers, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to claim adjusters and managers, including data entry, filing, and correspondence.
  • Resolve complex administrative problems and issues, escalating to management as needed.
  • Compile claim files and documents, including subpoenas, demand packages, and policy coverage confirmations.
  • Manage and organize incoming and outgoing mail and faxes, ensuring all correspondence is scanned as appropriate.
  • Monitor office equipment and alert vendors of any issues.
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy files, including file purging and local office retention.
  • Process transactional items, such as mailing correspondence and preparing invoices.
  • Perform data entry and run reports as needed.
  • Order supplies for the department and manage office expenses.
  • Assist with special projects and act as backup support for other departments, LOBs, and hubs.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma required.
  • 2-5 years of general office experience required.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and website navigation.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize.
  • Able to problem-solve and mentor others.
