The Facilities Maintenance Department is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the operational integrity of our facility in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The specialist will be responsible for implementing the Facility Master Sanitation Schedule, which encompasses preventive maintenance tasks, critical systems assessments, facility upkeep, and grounds management. Our Lee's Summit facility is a key site for producing customized thin-wall injection molded containers and packaging solutions for both branded and private label food and consumer product companies worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical room equipment, including filter replacements, lubrication, cleaning, and monitoring.
  • Oversee and maintain chemical treatment systems across various process water systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of fire suppression and life safety systems.
  • Repair and maintain facility lighting, HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical installations.
  • Ensure the upkeep of warehouse fixtures and equipment, including dock levelers and overhead doors.
  • Execute custodial duties in designated areas in alignment with the master sanitation schedule.
  • Engage in non-routine projects such as construction, demolition, and equipment installations.
  • Prepare facility amenities for meetings and special events.
  • Carry out necessary repairs and enhancements, including painting, flooring, and carpentry tasks.
  • Assist in the operational startup and shutdown of the plant during holiday periods.
  • Support recovery efforts from unexpected breakdowns, power outages, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of refrigeration cycles and perform troubleshooting on HVAC systems.
  • Utilize a multimeter and common electrical tools; possess knowledge of electrical components such as fuses and breakers.
  • Apply basic plumbing principles to resolve common issues like clogs and leaks.
  • Understand and troubleshoot basic power transmission systems, including belts and gears.
  • Utilize hand and power tools effectively for construction and repair projects.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the department manager.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must obtain training and certification for operating a forklift, scissor lift, and articulating boom lift.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

Candidates will be required to pass a Post Offer Essential Function Test (POET) and an Occupational Examination to demonstrate their ability to safely perform essential job functions, which include:

  • Vision and hearing assessments.
  • Dexterity evaluations for wrist, grip, and pinch strength.
  • Lifting tests to confirm the ability to lift 50 lbs. from various heights.
  • Push/Pull tests to verify the capability to move 80 lbs. using assisted devices.

7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
