Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor for Undergraduate Programs to join our team at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. The successful candidate will provide academic guidance and support to approximately 250 undergraduate business students, assisting them in making informed educational choices and decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor student academic progress and provide individualized guidance on curricular and co-curricular issues.
  • Conduct informational sessions and advise students on research, internship, and training opportunities.
  • Work closely with students at-risk and on academic probation to provide additional support and ensure all degree requirements are met.
  • Plan, implement, and assist in university events, including New Student Orientation, Commencement, and community service/outreach efforts.
  • Represent the MSB Undergraduate Program Office on campus-wide committees and collaborate with Associate Dean on global education programs.
  • Assist with the internal transfer process and work on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging activities for undergraduate business students.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; Master's degree is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a supportive and collaborative way with students, faculty, parents, and academic and student affairs staff.
  • Personal desire and skills to advise, counsel, and mentor students with the ability to multi-task and distinguish between essential and secondary tasks during busy periods.
  • Very strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and experience with initiating programs and planning events.
  • Familiarity with advising students with Degree Works and using Banner is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of work experience in a college environment is also preferred.
Work Mode Designation

This position's work mode has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed to meet the evolving needs of the University.

Pay Range

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position is $44,022.00 - $73,406.80.
