Position Overview

The GW Student Employment Center for Career Services is seeking a Student Ambassador I _Non-FWS to support the daily office functions of the Undergraduate Admissions Office. As a Student Ambassador, you will work as a team to disseminate consistent, accurate, and up-to-date information about the GW Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disseminate information about the GW Office of Undergraduate Admissions
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and walk-in questions about the George Washington University undergraduate admission process, academic programs, enrollment/registration, and campus life
  • Lead campus tours and process Undergraduate Admissions documents
  • Other projects and duties, as assigned

Student Employee Expectations
  • Punctuality: Student employees should be on time for all shifts
  • Time-Off/Dropping Shifts: A minimum of seven (7) days' notice must be given before the upcoming schedule release
  • Training/Monthly Meetings: Student employees understand that scheduled training sessions and monthly meetings are mandatory
  • Academic/Personal Work: Academic/personal work should not be done while clocked in
  • Shift Assignments: Students are assigned specific shifts for work
  • Availability: Student employees in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions are expected to work at least five(5) hours per week

Required Qualifications
This is an entry-level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Involvement in at least one GW student organization
  • Public speaking and customer service experience
  • Ability to work between 5-20 hours per week
  • Applicants should be a current undergraduate student at GWU, or have been an undergraduate student at GWU, within the last 3 years
