Job Summary

Spurwink is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Leader for Students with Special Needs to join our team. As a Therapeutic Educator for Exceptional Students, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering educational programming for students with significant emotional, behavioral, academic, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with an educational and clinical team to design and implement individualized learning plans
  • Manage classroom environments and instructional responsibilities, including implementing CARE principles and delivering assessment tools
  • Develop and write IEPs, coordinate with the clinical team, and supervise educational technicians
  • Participate in TCI safety restraints, BHP, ISP, and IEP tracking, and other duties in a day treatment special education setting
Requirements
  • Maine State certification as Teacher of Exceptional Students (282) or Teacher of Students with Severe Intellectual and Associated Impairments (286), or eligibility for conditional certification as a special education teacher
