Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician Level II to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and quality of medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Decontaminate, disinfect, prepare, sterilize, store, and distribute medical instruments, linen, equipment, and medical supplies.
  • Disinfect, store, and distribute durable medical equipment.
  • Perform Bowie Dick and biological testing and maintain accurate records.
  • Use SPM, Case Cart, Mainframe, MMS, and other related software programs daily.
  • Respond to telephone and computer requests per department policy.
  • Maintain high standards of the medical center by adhering to local, regional, Infection Control, and Regulatory agencies.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with all service departments to ensure adequate supplies and equipment for day-to-day operations.
  • Promote safety by using good mechanics and Universal Precautions.
  • Pick up contaminated supplies and equipment according to aseptic standards and return them to Sterile Processing.
  • Disassemble, clean, or decontaminate medical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assemble, inspect, test, wrap, and date medical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Perform biological testing and maintain accurate biological and sterilization records.
  • Manage (DME) inventory tracking using SPM.
  • Maintain inventory of items within the department using Event Related concepts.
  • Operate Room Case Schedule, review, analyze, and determine preference sheets to be utilized.

Requirements:

  • Able to run HiVac sterilizer, ultrasound, and washer sterilizer, disinfector, and gravity displacement autoclaves.
  • Legible writing, strong verbal skills, and computer skills.
