Join Our Team as a Marine Rigger Specialist

Job Overview:
  • Responsible for rigging materials to facilitate lifting, moving, and positioning items within the shipyard.
  • Provide clear instructions to crane operators and forklift drivers using hand signals or communication devices.
  • Efficiently locate, load, and unload materials and equipment as required.
  • Conduct testing and installation of rigging apparatus, including cargo booms and davits.
  • Safely maneuver heavy equipment in tight spaces.
  • Select appropriate rigging tools based on load specifications.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned, contributing to overall operational success.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of experience in shipyard operations or equivalent roles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; comprehensive knowledge of rigging equipment is essential.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces while ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Rig materials for transport onto vessels or throughout the shipyard.
  • Communicate effectively with equipment operators regarding load management.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of materials with precision.
  • Set up and test rigging equipment as necessary.
  • Organize tools and equipment at job sites and ensure proper storage post-operation.
  • Utilize various rigging tools and equipment to complete tasks efficiently.

Tools and Equipment: Familiarity with wire ropes, slings, pulleys, winches, and other rigging gear is required.

Physical Requirements: The role involves frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of rigging materials. Candidates should be prepared for physical activity, including climbing and balancing.

Work Environment: Employees may be exposed to various environmental factors, including noise and potential hazards associated with machinery.
