About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Physician to join our Surgical Service team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care, work collaboratively with our nurse practitioners, and contribute to the development and implementation of education and training programs for medical students and fellows.

Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support to nurse practitioners assigned to Surgical Service in their respective areas of expertise.
  • Participate in various facility programs designed to enhance and improve the delivery of patient care services, such as Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams.
  • Provide quality patient-centered care to both inpatients and outpatients for adults (aged 18 and up) as assigned by Chief, Surgical Service or Deputy Chief Surgical Service.
  • Work independently, with administrative and clinical responsibility to the Chief, Surgical Service or Deputy Chief, Surgical Service.
  • Support the medical Center-wide research mission, conduct studies, and participate in scholarly activities.
Requirements
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hypoglossal nerve stimulator placement and subsequent management.
  • Proficiency in the management of head and neck malignancies.
