We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician to serve as the Associate Chief of Staff for Education and Clinical Programs at the Department of Veteran Affairs. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong clinical background, excellent administrative skills, and a passion for education and research.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative, clinical, and programmatic leadership for the Medical Center education programs to ensure achievement of clinical, research, and education goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the quality of education and clinical programs, including guidance and training for residents and other trainees.
- Collaborate with other service chiefs to develop and execute the overall Medical Center strategic and business plan.
- Develop and manage budgets for education and learning resources, including simulation programs.
- Provide leadership in addressing ethical issues that impact clients and staff in/or beyond the organization/local health care community.
- Board eligible (certified strongly preferred) physician with advanced clinical experience.
- Demonstrated administrative and leadership skills, with experience in managing budgets and developing strategic plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to an interdisciplinary approach to care delivery and a passion for education and research.
The incumbent will work independently, with supervision mainly advisory in nature. The incumbent will provide first-line supervision to various administrative support staff.
The incumbent will be responsible for informing the Chief of Staff and/or the Medical Center Director of major problems and decisions in these areas.
The incumbent will receive assignments of a general nature from the Chief of Staff and/or Health Care System Director.
