Job Summary:

The Department of Veteran Affairs seeks a highly skilled Physician - Associate Chief of Staff (Specialty Care) to lead our medical team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical work, administration, and research programs within our specialty care service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Clinical Oversight: Provide hands-on clinical work, oversight, and administration of all aspects of the service, including an extensive research program and guidance and training for medical residents and other trainees.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop plans based on patient and staff feedback and projected needs to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care.
  • Patient-Centered Care: Plan the provision of services with a patient-centered vision to enhance patient education and shared decision-making.
  • Culture Development: Establish a customer-oriented culture and promote the hiring of persons who fit that culture.
  • Quality Improvement: Actively identify and encourage the implementation of best practices in customer service, break barriers that impede good service delivery, and empower staff to resolve problems and complaints independently at the lowest level.
  • Resource Sharing: Share resources to service customers effectively and efficiently.

Highlights of this Opportunity:

  • Competitive Compensation: Potential starting base salary range: $245,000-$400,000
  • Flexible Schedule: Daily schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • Generous Benefits: Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5 days paid for CME)
  • Autonomy and Flexibility: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
