Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Project Engineer to lead our opto-mechanical systems team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and testing complex opto-mechanical systems and wearable digital displays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of principal and senior engineers in the design, analysis, and testing of opto-mechanical systems and digital displays.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with program managers to develop and implement project plans, and ensure projects meet customer and derived requirements.
  • Lead proposal efforts, coordinating inputs from various project engineers, generating project bids and technical volumes.
  • Track, report, and analyze earned value metrics to understand program performance and determine appropriate actions to correct real problems.
  • Report performance to program management, leadership, and customers as warranted.
  • Support development of program execution plans and ensure projects remain within budget, on schedule, and meet all customer and derived requirements.
  • Travel up to 15% for business purposes.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in absence of a degree.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).
  • Demonstrated application of integrated project management, technical consistent process, earned value, and risk management for one or more programs in either an optical or digital display domain.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with conceptual, planning, and problem-solving skills across multiple projects.
  • Experience with SAP and Cobra preferred but not mandatory.
