Job Summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to lead site QMS procedure development, procedure issue, training, and compliance. This key quality role will team with the organization to satisfy customer expectations while accelerating technology development.

Key Responsibilities

Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation, control systems, and protocols. Supports site AS9100 certification efforts, leads/supports internal audits, and supports external specifications. Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect. Works with designs, specifications, devises testing plans, methods, and equipment to assure reliability of product. Ensures that projects and process control documents are compliant with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts. Supports Manufacturing Readiness Level progression (both manufacturing and inspection processes). Identifies and manages risk in product development (primarily utilizing and driving Production Part Approval Process (PAPP) core elements e.g., PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.). Develops and implements proactive quality strategies. Performs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action(s). Collaborates with design engineering to improve the producibility of ceramic matrix composite components. Supports the development and maintenance of inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) from ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). 8+ years of Engineering experience, or 5+ years with an advanced degree. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. This position requires advanced knowledge of Quality Management Systems obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Practical to substantial knowledge of Pratt & Whitney Quality Management Systems is highly desirable. ASQ (American Society of Quality), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality (CMQ), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP), or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA). Six Sigma Greenbelt. Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney quality systems and specifications.
