Position Overview:

As a Community Outreach Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to foster awareness among community members and employees about the significance of Naloxone. This role is essential in enhancing understanding and promoting educational initiatives regarding Naloxone. You will also support the distribution of Naloxone, engage in educational activities, assist in data collection, and conduct community presentations.



Qualifications:

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
A valid Illinois Driver's License is required upon hire.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient use of standard equipment necessary for fulfilling job responsibilities.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
  • Ability to operate a Carle Health vehicle, rental, or personal vehicle.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Strong multicultural sensitivity. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills. A focus on customer and patient needs. Strong critical thinking abilities and independent judgment in decision-making.



Key Responsibilities:

Client and Community Education

  • Design, implement, and assess educational materials on Naloxone for clients, employees, and community members.
  • Collaborate with the Wellness Manager to develop annual strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluate and suggest wellness educational resources for employees and community participants.
  • Assist with onboarding meetings for new clients, training for new hires, and educational sessions for interns.
  • Develop or update one new educational program each year.
  • Present and advocate for Naloxone education topics to employees and community members.
  • Provide informed recommendations to clients based on health screening outcomes.

Clinical Excellence

  • Conduct screenings that include education and distribution of Naloxone.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to ensure coverage for events.
