Position Summary

The Metabolic Specialist provides technical leadership and training to Personal Trainers, Metabolic Technicians and members in the areas of metabolic testing and heart rate monitors. They consistently provide metabolic testing and heart rate monitor services coinciding with company values and vendor guidelines. They are responsible for ensuring Personal Training department markets promote and implement metabolic testing and heart rate monitor programs along with educational seminars for members that compliment all exercise programming. The Metabolic Specialist ensures Personal Training department meets or exceeds monthly metabolic testing and heart rate monitor revenue goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicates company values and vendor guidelines for performing metabolic measurements with scientific accuracy and applies heart rate monitor products with technical expertise to Personal Training departments
  • Develops and maintains safe, professional, and comprehensive metabolic programs specific to member satisfaction with test procedures, test interpretation, test results, and cardiovascular programming
  • Oversees quality assurance checks on metabolic testing and heart rate monitor product administration
  • Conducts, coordinates and prepares educational seminars related to metabolism, heart rate training, and heart rate monitor products that are consistent and factually based adhering to company values and vendor guidelines
  • Oversees metabolic programs and heart rate monitor products sale's performance including product mix, supply cost, cost of goods sold, and pricing integrity
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports revenue performances of metabolic programs and heart rate monitor products
  • Communicates financial performances of metabolic programs and heart rate monitor products to Regional Metabolic Specialist
  • Assists and oversees the quality of metabolic program education and heart rate monitor product education for the Personal Training department according to company values and vendor guidelines
  • Implements all corporate communication regarding standard operating procedures and policies at club level regarding metabolic programs and heart rate monitor products
  • Attends meetings and teleconference calls regarding metabolic programs and heart rate monitor products

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Health and Fitness
  • Certified Personal Trainer
  • CPR and AED Certified
  • 2 advanced certifications or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of Heart Rate monitors, Polar Tri-Fit and ProTrainer 5 software and Anaerobic Threshold testing
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Requirements

  • Cardiovascular Athlete
  • 1 year of experience with heart rate training and heart rate monitor products
  • 1 to 2 years of experience performing metabolic tests and test interpretation
  • Degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine or other related field
