Position Overview: The Patient Access Representative 2 is responsible for a variety of essential tasks within a medical office setting. This role involves collecting accurate patient information for billing and reimbursement purposes, utilizing advanced computer systems for scheduling and registration, and ensuring high-quality customer service in alignment with the mission and strategic objectives of Heartland Community Health Clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support across all Heartland locations as needed.
  • Greet patients and visitors promptly, maintaining awareness of all individuals entering the facility.
  • Answer phone calls in a courteous and efficient manner, directing inquiries to the appropriate departments.
  • Initiate and update patient demographic and billing information to ensure data accuracy.
  • Conduct patient interviews to verify identification, insurance, and medical records.
  • Process insurance cards and required documentation, ensuring proper entry into the practice management system.
  • Collect payments from patients and reconcile daily financial transactions.
  • Schedule patient appointments in accordance with departmental guidelines and follow up with reminders.
  • Assist with pre-registration and outreach to new patients or those with insurance updates.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Practice Management System and support workflow coordination for optimal customer service.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations and protocols related to healthcare services and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong telephone etiquette and prompt call routing skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and maintain patient records effectively.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility in scheduling.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with patients and staff.
  • Analytical skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Compensation: $17-20 per hour
