Program Overview:


This program offers Registered Nurses the chance to provide direct patient care while adhering to the highest standards of practice and the core values of our organization. It is an excellent opportunity for RNs seeking to transition into Acute Care Practice.



Application Requirements:

  • Commitment to a two-year full-time program
  • Active RN license in Florida
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider
  • RNs with less than one year of acute care experience are not eligible for the Nurse Residency Program
  • RNs who have been out of practice for over three years
  • RNs currently working in non-acute care settings (e.g., long-term care, rehabilitation, home health) who wish to transition to acute care.
Available tracks include, but are not limited to, Medical/Surgical/Telemetry.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate across disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care, including referrals and addressing spiritual and psychosocial needs.

Assess the educational needs of patients and their families, providing tailored education based on age, culture, and medical conditions.

Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care strategies to optimize outcomes while utilizing available resources effectively. Document and communicate patient conditions as necessary.
Delegate patient care tasks to ancillary staff and may mentor student nurses and new hires.

Essential Competencies:
ACCOUNTABILITY, CUSTOMER SERVICE, CARE PLAN DEVELOPMENT, DISEASE PROCESS KNOWLEDGE, ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS, PATIENT AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE, PATIENT SAFETY IN NURSING, PROBLEM SOLVING IN PATIENT CARE, ADAPTABILITY, PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS.

Education and Certification Requirements:

Accredited Program:
Nursing (Required)BLS certification from an accredited provider (American Heart Association or Red Cross) is mandatory. Candidates must hold a Registered Nurse Compact License or a Florida RN License.

Additional Information:

Work Complexity:
This role requires critical thinking, effective communication, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Experience Requirements:
Candidates must be recent graduates with less than six months of experience as an Acute Care Registered Nurse or less than twelve months as a Non-Acute Care Registered Nurse.

Other Considerations:

The Nurse Residency Program is available for graduates from accredited nursing programs within the last twelve months or those with limited non-acute care experience. The RN Fellowship Refresh to Acute Care Track is for those ineligible for the Nurse Residency Program, including those who graduated over twelve months ago or have been out of acute care practice for three years.


Working Conditions:
This position involves various physical demands, including lifting, standing, and repetitive movements, as well as exposure to biological hazards and potential physical risks.
