Position Overview

The Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute at Memorial Healthcare System is currently seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified critical care physician for a fellowship opportunity. This one-year, non-ACGME accredited program offers comprehensive exposure to the management of cardiac surgery patients, including the use of mechanical circulatory support devices such as Impella, RVAD, LVAD, Protek Duo, and Tandem Heart. The fellowship also encompasses advanced heart failure management, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), and heart transplantation.

Role Responsibilities

The Cardiac Intensivist Fellow will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to co-manage a 27-bed Cardiac and Vascular Intensive Care Unit. Our CVICU and Cardiac Surgery teams have consistently achieved the highest rankings for patient outcomes over the past decade. As a vital member of this esteemed cardiac team, the fellow will engage closely with a variety of specialists, including cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, interventional cardiologists, congenital heart disease experts, and heart failure specialists.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for this fellowship must have graduated from an accredited medical institution. Foreign graduates are required to possess a valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Additionally, candidates must have completed an ACGME-approved residency and fellowship in Internal Medicine-Critical Care Medicine, Anesthesia Critical Care Medicine, or Surgical Critical Care Medicine.

Successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional clinical skills and possess a comprehensive knowledge base in critical care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based medical care.

Employment Details

This is a full-time employed position within the multi-specialty Memorial Physician Group.
