Business Partner People and Culture Specialist

This role will work in the Assistant Vice Chancellor's immediate office and serve as a Lead Analyst to all department analysts/administrative assistants in policy adherence and deliverance and all HR functions and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Assist department directors, managers, and supervisors with resource allocation, problem resolution, complicated human resource issues, space planning, and general planning.
- Plan and implement department-level HR-related and compliance internal communications to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Design and develop strategies in all areas of operations that take into account the diverse nature of CLS.
- Regularly work on highly complex, time-sensitive, and confidential matters where analysis of situations and recommended actions require in-depth evaluation of variable factors and extensive knowledge of UCSF and CLS's policies and procedures.
- Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7 years relevant, progressive experience.
- Advanced knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols, and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and/or personnel management.
- Advanced interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, political acumen, advising, and counseling skills.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Advanced skills in short- and long-term strategic planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
