Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Communications Manager and Executive Assistant to join our team at Oerlikon. This is a hybrid role that will focus on managing communication strategies for the Americas Region and providing executive support to the Regional President.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communications:
    • Collaborate with the Americas Leadership team and product line leaders to implement communication strategies across internal and external channels, ensuring a cohesive message and compliance with global guidelines and branding.
    • Plan and execute exhibitions to showcase the company's products and services in the region and prepare new product launches.
    • Lead the regional communications team and coordinate and prioritize their activities for the region, ensuring consistent messaging and branding across all communications channels.
    • Prepare and execute digital communications with local and trade media via press releases, articles, and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
    • Responsible for organization and delivery of corporate messaging tailored to a diverse range of employees within the organization.
    • Voice of the region in the global communications team.
    • Responsible for leading a team of 1-3 reports in the communications department located in the Americas region.
  • Executive Assistance:
    • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the President of Americas, including follow-up of initiatives, manage scheduling and execution of management meetings, business reviews, calendars, and personal calendar management.
    • Prepare and organize digital documents, presentations, and reports for executive review.
    • Manage communication flow, often sensitive and confidential, between the President, Americas, and Global Leadership Teams in Europe as well as other business stakeholders to ensure timely responses and effective collaboration.
    • Hands-on team contributor on a variety of projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or English concentration preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in communications and/or marketing, preferably working for an international company in technology or manufacturing.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to communicate complex issues in a compelling and effective manner, combined with strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Proactive and organized with the ability to deal with short deadlines in an agile environment for a global organization.
  • Willingness to get empowered to create value for the regional management team.
  • Solid project management and/or event planning experience preferred.
  • Management of projects and initiatives across hierarchical levels and multiple cultures.
  • High level of self-organization and passion for communication.
  • Positive attitude and trustworthiness.
  • Execution-minded and ability to independently make judgments and decisions.
  • Ability to reprioritize in a changing environment.
  • Advance the leadership team in the use of modern communications and organizational tools (SharePoint, AI, workflows, Office 365, etc.).
