Child Protection Advocate

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our Children's Asylum Team at West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting asylum-seeking children and young people, championing their voices, and providing holistic and therapeutic care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct accurate assessments of needs and work proactively as a member of the team to deliver an effective service.
- Work in partnership with carers, providers, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the complex needs of asylum-seeking children and young people.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and external agencies on matters related to asylum-seeking children and young people.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the well-being and safety of asylum-seeking children and young people.
- Recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, Post Graduate Certificate in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Completion of relevant post-qualifying training.
- Knowledge of theoretical Social Work concepts and practices, with demonstrable examples of dealing with complex issues and situations.
- Experience of managing levels of risk with the range of children and young people you work with.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Regular supervision and access to excellent learning and development provisions.
