About the Opportunity

Western Illinois University seeks a visionary leader to serve as the Director of the School of Management and Marketing. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of business education and drive excellence in academic programs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the School of Management and Marketing in achieving academic excellence and promoting professional growth among faculty, students, and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of the College of Business and Technology to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance industry partnerships, experiential learning opportunities, and community engagement.
  • Recruit and retain top talent, including faculty and students, and provide guidance on curricular revision and assessment activities.
  • Oversee budgeting and fiscal management for the unit, ensuring responsible stewardship and positive outcomes.
Requirements
  • Earned doctorate from an AACSB-accredited institution in a relevant field.
  • Significant experience in academic administration, curriculum development, and community relations.
  • Excellent written, oral, and technology application skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage a diverse team, foster collaboration, and drive results.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in building industry partnerships and leveraging technology to enhance operations.
  • Ability to recruit, retain, and interact with students, faculty, and external stakeholders.
  • Successful record of funding proposal collaboration and stewardship administration.
