Position Overview:

Role Summary:
Bridges SI is in search of a skilled field audio-visual engineer to enhance our growth and reputation in the industry. This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager and is expected to be an integral part of the Engineering Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, repair, and testing of audio-visual equipment and systems during field installations.
  • Evaluate contractual obligations, customer requirements, design modifications, and other relevant data to strategize and develop program activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead the design, testing, and installation of audio-visual systems in field environments.
    • Collaborate with control system programmers to finalize graphical user interfaces and control system programming.
    • Create Digital Signal Processing (DSP) files for audio-visual systems.
    • Install firmware, device software, control code, and manage system setup and commissioning.
  • Conduct tests to assess potential hazards and ensure system safety.
  • Prepare comprehensive AV engineering packages, including specifications, drawings, and technical documentation for clients.
  • Coordinate work activities and provide training for technical staff.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design tools such as AutoCAD and Bluebeam for engineering tasks.
  • Offer insights and solutions to resolve issues and achieve performance and financial goals.
  • May lead or coordinate complex project teams of technical personnel, either in-house or on-site.
  • Implement high-quality AV technology solutions to ensure effective and economical support for products, systems, or equipment.
  • Engage in studies to explore alternative design strategies and their implications for innovative problem-solving.
  • Devise and execute tests to evaluate, troubleshoot, and confirm system performance for client approval.
  • Document the outcomes of intricate analysis and design tasks.
  • Capture revisions for system drawings to create As-Built documentation.
  • Assist in compiling information regarding design, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and project timelines.
  • Report to Bridges SI office and client sites for system commissioning as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent specialized AV technical training and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, installing, configuring, and testing complex AV systems.
  • Proven expertise in engineering AV technologies and environments, including projection displays, video conferencing, complex audio systems, control systems, and switching systems.
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist - Design (CTS-D) certification.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for projects primarily located in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia areas.
