This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager and is expected to be an integral part of the Engineering Team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, repair, and testing of equipment and systems in field installations.
  • Evaluate contractual obligations, customer requirements, design modifications, and other relevant data to strategize and develop program activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead the design, testing, and installation of equipment and systems in field environments.
  • Collaborate with control system programmers to finalize GUI and control system programming.
  • Create Digital Signal Processing (DSP) files for audio-visual systems.
  • Load firmware, device software, control code, and set up & commission systems.
  • Conduct tests to assess hazards and ensure safety.
  • Prepare comprehensive AV engineering packages, including specifications, drawings, and technical documentation for clients.
  • Plan and coordinate work activities and provide training for technical staff.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design tools (AutoCAD) and Bluebeam software to perform engineering tasks.
  • Offer guidance and solutions to address challenges and achieve performance and financial goals.
  • May lead or coordinate complex project teams comprising in-house or onsite technical personnel.
  • Implement quality AV technology solutions to provide effective and economical support for products, systems, or equipment.
  • Engage in studies to explore alternative design approaches and their implications to devise innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Design and execute appropriate tests to evaluate, debug, and verify system performance/functionality for client signoff/project acceptance.
  • Document the outcomes of intricate analysis and design tasks.
  • Capture revisions to system drawings for generating As-Built documentation.
  • Assist in preparing information regarding design, specifications, materials, colors, equipment, estimated costs, and project timelines.
  • Report to Bridges SI office and/or client sites for system commissioning as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science or equivalent specialized AV technical training and experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, installing, setting up, and testing complex AV systems.
  • Proven skills and understanding of engineering AV technologies and environments, including projection displays, video teleconferencing, complex audio systems, control systems, and switching systems.
  • AVIXA (formerly InfoComm International) Certified Technology Specialist – Design (CTS-D).

Most projects are located within the Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area, with potential out-of-town travel required.
