Position Overview:

  • The Senior Compensation Accountant is responsible for overseeing the compilation and analysis of compensation-related expenses, which includes:
  • Managing the preparation of general ledger entries and reconciliations to ensure a timely month-end close.
  • Supervising the preparation and presentation of balance sheet and income statement results along with relevant analysis.
  • Overseeing the preparation and examination of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including the resolution of outstanding items.
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX controls, including reviewing contracts for appropriate capital and operational expense recognition.
  • Assisting in the coordination of both internal and external audit processes.
  • Documenting and monitoring internal controls effectively.
  • Leading and mentoring other accountants within the department.
  • Contributing to special projects as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles and a solid foundation in accounting functions and internal controls.
  • Intermediate knowledge of GAAP with the ability to research and resolve accounting applications.
  • Strong analytical and auditing capabilities, with proficiency in researching and reconciling account balances.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees at all levels, including management and auditors.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with JD Edwards, SQL, and Essbase is advantageous.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is also a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
