Position Overview:
- The Senior Compensation Accountant role is responsible for overseeing the compilation and analysis of compensation-related expenses, which includes:
- Managing the preparation of general ledger entries and reconciliations to ensure a timely month-end close.
- Supervising the preparation and presentation of balance sheet and income statement results along with associated analyses.
- Overseeing the preparation and analysis of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including the resolution of outstanding items.
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX controls, including reviewing contracts for appropriate capital and operational expense recognition.
- Coordinating the internal and external audit processes.
- Documenting and monitoring internal controls.
- Leading and mentoring other accountants within the department.
- Assisting with special projects as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong grasp of accounting principles and a foundational understanding of accounting functions and internal controls.
- Intermediate knowledge of GAAP with the ability to research and resolve accounting applications.
- Robust analytical and auditing skills, with a capability to research and reconcile account balances.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of employees, management, and auditors.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proactive approach with the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with JD Edwards, SQL, and Essbase is advantageous.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 3-5 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
